| Statement of Purpose: | The Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh's mission is to promote mutual understanding of the Catholic and Protestant tradiations in Northern Ireland and economic development throughout all of Ireland. The Institute fulfills its mission by providing quality programs in job training, economic development, leadership development, educational alliances, and reconciliation. The Institute is a change-oriented organization that collaborates with industry, educational, and government institutions in the development of all programs. | ||||||||||

| Accomplishments: | Managed 50 International Fund for Ireland projects in Pittsburgh. Managed 12 Rooney Fellowships for the American Ireland Fund. Provided 1,300 unemployed adults from Ireland and Northern Ireland with on-the-job training and American work experience. Conducted over 650 reconcilliation/mutual understanding group sessions for Catholic and Protestant adults from Ireland and Northern Ireland. Arranged forums for more than 200 educational, civic, and business leaders from Ireland and Northern Ireland on the economic and political concerns of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Sponsored over 50 adults to obtain work experience not currently available to them in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Recruited and led over 100 U.S. companies on 11 fact-finding missions to Ireland and Northern Ireland. | ||||||||||
