Accomplishments: Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank – With the help of the Urban League’s Duquesne Family Support Center and Promise of Iris, GLENDA packaged nearly 10,000 pounds of frozen food and nearly 28,000 pounds of canned goods for distribution to area food pantries. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – With partners from Pittsburgh Singles Volunteer Network, GLENDA unloaded an entire trailer truck of food and beverages and handed them out to over 35,000 race participants. Pittsburgh Three Rivers PrideFest – In 2004, GLENDA collaborated with event sponsor Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Pittsburgh and GLSEN, Persad Center, and Youth Empowerment Project in the planning and production of an extraordinary month of gay pride activities. In 2005, GLENDA volunteers helped with booth set up for PrideFest, which attracted 4,000 people to Pittsburgh North Shore Riverfront Park.
